California Condors haven’t been spotted gliding in the Pacific Northwest for decades, but that may soon change. The endangered bird is being reintroduced to the redwoods for the first time in 100 years, the National Park Service reports. The Yurok Tribe is working with several government agencies to bring condors back to the Yurok Ancestral Territory and Redwood National Park along the northwest coast of California. An elderly Asian woman who fought back against her attacker during an assault in San Francisco wants to donate the money raised on her behalf. A GoFundMe started for Xiao Zhen Xie by her family has raised almost a million dollars so far. The 75-year-old plans to donate it to the Asian American and Pacific Islander community to combat racism. Source: CBS News

A donated custom wheelchair made for any kind of terrain is giving Army veteran Cody Becker his freedom back. The 32-year-old grew up hunting and fishing in Wisconsin, but a training accident left him partially paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. His new ride from Beale Family Foundation, Paralyzed Veterans of America and Action Trackchair allows him to get back into nature and gives him another level of independence. Source: NBC 15
